Health Data Science: Datathon, Workshops and Conference

In collaboration between academic institutions (Universidad CES, Universidad de Antioquia, Universidad del Cauca, in partnership with Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad de Los Andes, Universidad El Bosque, Universidad del Rosario, Universidad ICESI, and Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Ambientales), the public sector (Instituto Nacional de Salud and Secretaría de Salud del Cauca), medical societies (Asociación Colombiana de Radiología), and international partners (Centro Nacional en Sistemas de Información en Salud de Chile -CENS, and MIT Critical Data in United States) we invite you to participate in Make Health Colombia.

Two days of datathon, one night of specilized workshops, and one day of conference that will let you learn through the voice and experience of leading national and international experts, how data science and artificial intelligence transform health ecosystems and promote the well-being of society.

Our Goals

Generate and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration networks between universities, companies and the public sector, from Colombia and Latin America, in order to align efforts towards a joint agenda of digital transformation in health for the region.

Integrate technical, scientific and clinical capacities of professionals and students in the region, for the ideation and development of solutions to health challenges based on data science and artificial intelligence.

Exchange experiences in the development of projects in data science and artificial intelligence in health, with a perspective from the ethics, regulation and all the technical and non-technical requirements necessary for its implementation in health ecosystems in the region.

Activities

Health Datathon

3rd & 4th August

Join an interdisciplinary team of health professionals, engineers, and data scientists to propose solutions to real challenges in the region using artificial intelligence. Among the challenges we will address are the development of predictive models of climate-sensitive diseases under the concept of "One Health", and the relationship between the infodemic and misinformation in the spread of COVID-19 in Latin America.

Workshops

4th August

You will have the opportunity to choose a topic of your preference and, with the guidance of a guest expert, carry out practical activities focused on the acquisition of technical skills in the proposed areas of health. Perfect for developing skills in new technologies and digital transformation.

Conference

5th August

National and international experts present their work and share their experiences from the educational, private and public sectors, with a focus on digital health solutions, particularly those that use Artificial Intelligence. Discussions will also be addressed from the ethical, regulatory, educational, research and development perspectives, as well as the implementation and scaling of technological solutions in the health sector.
